What exactly is a butterfly song?
A butterfly is an amazing little creature. It starts out as a caterpillar, slow and grounded. To become a butterfly it goes through a process of transformation inside of a cocoon. When the changed life emerges it is not only extraordinary in color, but it is also able to fly and flutter about freely.

A butterfly song goes through a similar transformation process. It starts out as a song that was written as a musical with no words or leading melody. Later, if conditions are just right, the writer will be inspired by a person or event to add words, meaning and a new overlaying melody.
Most songs are written with the words, melody and meaning joined together as it is being created. A butterfly song is essentially written in reverse which is quite challenging, but it makes it extra special. The songs that have been written in this manner are indicated with a butterfly image on the page next to their description. |

For over 22 years this song was simply a musical piece written and recorded for my family and friends to enjoy. Then suddenly in July 2023 a new inspiration came to me and within a few days the musical was transformed into "New Heart, New Love". The meaning and the melody were added without changing or re-recording the original musical composition.
As of it's release, this butterfly, speaks of a new chapter that has not actually begun yet, but I sing in faith and in hope.
